NOTES FROM LAS VEGAS

NOTES FROM LAS VEGAS

Notes From Las Vegas is a video installation that focuses on themes of family and health care issues. The piece stems from an extended trip that I took to Las Vegas, Nevada in February, 2014. My father was seriously ill and my mother was not able-bodied. I stayed to help navigate the murky waters of the U.S. healthcare system.

The installation is intended to give the viewer a sense of the issues that one is concerned with when a loved one, especially a parent, is ill. Long hours at the hospital. . . muddled communication from doctors. . and dealing with parents who are unable to support themselves.
